Tíos, estoy flipando mucho con esas críticas. En serio. Mejor que MCIS? Comparándolo con Dark Side of the Moon y Qadrophenia? No se les va un poco la olla? Igual es que uno ya estaba acostumbrado a la crítica destructiva y descerebrada, pero me sorprende tanto que me hace preguntarme si no tendrá nada que ver el acuerdo con EMI para sacar el disco. Y es que una discográfica no vale para nada más que para hacer promoción. Porque, no me jodáis... en varias críticas me ha parecido entender que dicen que el album vuelve a sonar a Siamese Dream... tíos, en serio? Realmente el disco es TAAAN superior a Zeitgeist o Machina para que lo pongan al nivel de puta obra maestra? No me fío, aquí hay gato encerrado, llevo 10 años leyendo mierda de los críticos sobre SP, y ahora esto? Algo raro pasa.

Buen trabajo, tío, va a quedar un pedazo de compendio cuando vayan saliendo todas las críticas.

Yo estoy en contra total de que se compare un disco que ni ha salido oficialmente aún con los clásicos de la banda, que es que son clásicos, oiga. Habrá que darle tiempo al disco, pero vamos, entiendo el entusiasmo. El disco ha quedado jodidamente bien. A bote pronto diría que supera al Zeitgeist, pero bueno, tendría que darle un par de escuchas, que lo tengo bastante olvidado en realidad.

Yo ya lo puse en el otro hilo, no es nuevo que a estas alturas pongan a un disco de Smashing entre muy bien y de puta madre, tampoco es nuevo que luego no se como una rosca y termine pasando sin pena ni gloria.

Si recibe críticas malas, no tienen ni puta idea y se basan en prejuicios para no admitir que es una obra maestra. Si las críticas son buenas, es una obra maestra indiscutiblemente. Va así, no? Mola, siempre ganamos xD

Yo aún no lo he escuchado, me da una pereza bastante grande. Igual el finde.

Yo de momento no lo veo superior al Zeitgeist, pero también es que tengo muy buenos recuerdos de aquella época, y pesan XD Eso no quita que me parezca un muy buen disco, de los que puedes recomendar con orgullo fan. En lo que sí lo veo a Oceania claramente superior a toda la discografía pumpkin es en los bajos (Nicole se ha convertido en mi bajista pumpkin favorita ^^).

Otra cosa que me está gustando mucho de este disco es que alterna sonidos y recursos familiares de todos los palos que ha tocado Corgan, con algunas cosillas nuevas que dejan muy buen sabor de boca (sobre todo la parte electrónica, que me parece muy bien metida). De las miradas al pasado que he visto por ahora, Quasar es una Jellybelly + Tarantula 2.0, My love is winter me parece la nueva That's the way, The Chimera me suena a Pisces Iscariot y a los Zwan más pop (de hecho me da un aire a Rivers we can't cross), Inkless tiene un rollete muy Siamese Dream, Oceania tiene una parte que recuerda un poco a Machina (por la clara influencia de The Cure) y otra a Gossamer y a Pink Floyd (del minuto 5 en adelante), y Wildflower tiene un aire a Pomp and circumstances (solo incluido), y Wildflower me parece un mixto de Strayz y Pomp and circumstances, aunque sigue sonando a final distinto de todos los demás. De las novedades dentro de la paleta pumpkin me quedo por ahora con Glissandra (que me recuerda un montón a Garbage), mi favorita junto a Oceania.

Me ha gustado también que se mantiene el buen trabajo en armonías vocales y de guitarras que empezó en Zeitgeist. Mola que Billy no se olvide de los muchos aciertos del último álbum

PD: quizá lo que más me ha gustado es que nada me ha recordado al Teargarden XD

He añadido algunas críticas más.

Sobre el disco: no quiero entrar en materia hasta que lo tenga bien oído. Me lo estoy tomando con calma. De momento estoy con molul: tiene un poco de cada época de SP (y de billy). Hay melodías zwanescas, guitarrazos, batería animal, lalalas, tenebrismo adoresco...

Y por el tema de las letras es como si el mismo Billy que lloraba amargamente en Adore por fin hubiera echado un polvo xD

"Mother moon Mistress of the sun, say I got you, I got you" Joder, es que cuando oigo esa parte veo un coro de gospel detrás del calvo. ¡TEMÓN!

I want to be in the moment. If that had been a super warm crowd I wouldn't have reacted like that. The show we did at the Riviera last year, that was one of the warmest crowds I've ever played for in 25 years.

Le he dado unas tres escuchas y esta muy bien, mejor que Zeitgeist aunque a mi Zeitgeist también me gusta aunque no este al nivel de los discos anteriores.Lo de los críticos no lo entiendo, siempre diciendo que a Billy se le acabo el talento y ahora nos salen con que ha hecho un disco tan bueno.Esta gente no hay quien les entienda igual lo ponen a uno por los suelos que lo elevan a los cielos.Ni Zeitgeist era tan malo ni este es tan bueno, vamos creo yo.

Yo creo también que Oceania está, como disco en general, bastante mejor que Zeitgeist. No sé, Zeitgeist tenía sus 4 temones enormes pero luego el resto era bastante más flojillo. Oceania lo veo mejor en general, tiene sus temazos pero luego casi todas las canciones son buenas, no te da sensación de relleno por ningún lado. Ni que decir tiene, por supuesto, que esto se mea en el Teargarden (sí, me niego a aceptar que Oceania forme parte del "proyecto Teargarden" XDDD).
